Julie is an actor and writer. She plays Daisy Daft, a naive, incompetent but hard working intern and lead character on the sitcom Dangerous Hospital. Her name tag appropriately reads "CAUTION: INTERN". Julie is a regular member of the sketch comedy show Shameless. Both shows air on Time Warner Cable Channel 57 in New York City. In addition to her television work, Julie starred in the short film Princess of the Sword as the sword-wielding hero Kendra who has an action-packed fight with her nemesis, Lord Serpentine. Julie has performed on stage in roles ranging from a prosecutor in Vital Signs to a neurotic shopper in Laughing Wild. She has performed improv comedy with various ensemble groups at Caroline's, The Comedy Cellar, NY Comedy Club, and The Lambs Theatre in NYC. Julie has also enjoyed voice over and print work, including an ad recently featured in the NYC subway system. As a writer, she co-wrote and played a lead in the short horror film Anxiety made for the "48 Hour Film Project". The judges selected the short for the "Best of" DVD. Julie has written the short screenplays Oh, to be single . . ., a romantic comedy, and Discovering Hope, a coming of age story about a young female basketball player. She is currently working on several feature length screenplays. In addition to acting and writing, Julie has supported herself as a civil rights attorney with the NYC Commission on Human Rights and a mediator with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Along the way, she played semi-professional basketball in Ireland and New Zealand and professional football with the New York Sharks. Julie was in the documentary First Down about the Sharks' second season, directed by Eli Kabillio, and appeared with several teammates on ABC's The View. |
